2 Chronicles 35:2-6

2 He appointed the priests to their offices ^aand encouraged them in the service of the house of the Lord. 3 And he said to the Levites ^bwho taught all Israel and who were holy to the Lord, “Put the holy ark in the house that Solomon the son of David, king of Israel, built. You need not carry it on your shoulders. Now serve the Lord your God and his people Israel. 4 Prepare yourselves ^caccording to your fathers’ houses by your divisions, ^das prescribed in the writing of David king of Israel ^eand the document of Solomon his son. 5 And ^fstand in the Holy Place ^gaccording to the groupings of the fathers’ houses of your brothers the lay people, and according to the division of the Levites by fathers’ household. 6 And slaughter the Passover lamb, and ^hconsecrate yourselves, and prepare for your brothers, to do according to the word of the Lord by Moses.”

Nehemiah 12:24-28

24 And the chiefs of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and ⁱJeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brothers who stood opposite them, ^jto praise and to give thanks, ^kaccording to the commandment of David ^lthe man of God, ^mwatch by watch. 25 Mattaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkub were gatekeepers standing guard at ⁿthe storehouses of the gates. 26 These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua son of Jozadak, and in the days of ^oNehemiah the governor and of ^pEzra, the priest and scribe.

Dedication of the Wall

27 And at ^qthe dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites in all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with gladness, with thanksgivings and with singing, ^rwith cymbals, harps, and lyres. 28 And the sons of the singers gathered together from the district surrounding Jerusalem and from the villages of the Netophathites;

Nehemiah 13:22

22 Then I commanded the Levites ^sthat they should purify themselves and come and guard the gates, to keep the Sabbath day holy. ^tRemember this also in my favor, O my God, and spare me according to the greatness of your steadfast love.

Nehemiah 13:28

28 And one of the sons of ^uJehoiada, the son of ^vEliashib the high priest, was the son-in-law of ^wSanballat the Horonite. Therefore I chased him from me.
